In less than two days I get to go back and stay here…
and look at this…
and hang out with some of these people…
However…I will be going back in MUCH better shape than last time thanks to the new adventure of heavy lifting and our 30 Day Challenge.
Have you ever seen a picture of yourself and thought, “I look like that?”
That is exactly how I felt last summer when I looked through the pictures from our vacation to the Cayman Islands. I was feeling pretty good about how I looked…until the proof came in. Below is a shot from last summer.
Now before I go on, I am not trying to be “down” or “too hard on myself.” I am not saying I looked BAD. I am saying I could have done better, and that’s exactly what I did. I just sort of had a layer of “pudge” or “softness” that I really wanted to get rid of. And that is exactly the goal that this 30 Day Challenge has helped me reach. Since last summer I have lost 15lbs. (I did not lose all 15 during this Challenge, though some of the past challengers have come very close) I started lifting heavy weights in January. I got the Chalean Extreme workouts for Christmas from my mother in law and I have been putting them to work. After lifting with the weights I then started to add some cardio in a little at a time.
Now more about the 30 Day Challenge…Since the beginning of the summer I have been running boot camp 3 days a week. Those days remained the same during my 30 day challenge with the running and weights. During boot camp I usually do between 3 and 4 miles and some kettle bell and body weight exercises after each mile. So, on Tues, Thurs and Saturdays I started with Les Mills PUMP. Be still my heart. I am obsessed. If any of you have ever taken a barbell class I hear this is JUST like that. And you get to do it in the privacy of your own home. It has done wonders in helping me reach my goal of toning and slimming.
The pudge around my tummy area has pretty much disappeared. I have also seen a HUGE improvement in the hip and butt area. Just in the 30 days I lost 2 1/2″ around my hips and 10″ overall!!!! Here is the front view from our 30 Day Challenge. Definitely slimmer through the upper thighs, hips, and stomach.
So anyone questioning whether or not to start lifting weights…get on it IMMEDIATELY. You will not regret it. Last summer 153lbs and this summer 138lbs.
What will lifting heavy do for you?? If you are ready to start a new weight lifting program or want to join a 30 Day Challenge contact any of the sisters…we are ready to help you reach your goal!
